Rights Respecting School Award
The Rights Respecting Schools Award is a Unicef UK programme that aims to put children’s rights at the heart of schools in the UK. We work with thousands of schools across the country to embed children’s rights in their ethos and culture to improve wellbeing and develop every child’s talents and abilities to their full potential.
We will work with Unicef on a journey to become fully Rights Respecting. The Award recognises school’s achievement in putting the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child (CRC or UNCRC) into practice within the school and beyond.
Blairgowrie High School has formed a steering group to begin work to implement the values of a Rights Respecting School with an aim to achieve the award. Thgis requires the input of pupils, teaching nd non-teaching adults, as well as the wider community. All members of the school community are invited to join the steering group, see Mr Bald.
